Betty joined the Stoney Brook family with 20 plus years of nursing experience. She began her love of caring for people in 1978 as a CNA (certified nurse’s aide) and then went on to earn her degree as a nurse. Her early experience in nursing was at MD Anderson in Houston, TX. It was here that Betty learned an entirely different way of looking at life in general. After eight years of service, she then relocated to Central Texas area. It was here in Central Texas that Betty began her career in long term care. First as an infection control coordinator then eventually moving into the position of Assistant Director of Nursing.
Betty is married to Joseph Richard and has three children. They are also the proud grandparents of five granddaughters and one grandson. Betty loves spending time with her family and working in her church.
Betty has a genuine love for people and truly feels that she can make a difference in the lives of the staff she leads, the people she works with and the patients she cares for.
Bridget began as Activity Director for Stoney Brook of Hewitt, in February of 2016. She realized her passion for activities and working with Seniors Citizens many years ago. She was employed as an Activity Aide, while she was attending college and earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. It was through this job as an aide that she realized not only how fun a job could be, but also what a gift it was to be working with Senior Citizens. “They have so many wonderful stories and life lessons to teach.” Bridget graduated and worked in the Retail Management Industry for 15 years, mostly as the Manager of a Hallmark Card Store. Here she was able to visit with and assist seniors frequently, and realized how much she enjoyed that part of her job. She decided to go back to school to obtain a certification in Activity Directing. After completing school and interning for many hours, she worked as an Activity Assistant in a Memory Care Facility. She has now been an Activity Director for several years and “enjoys it as much as I did when I was an aide, because the resident’s give way more to me than I could ever give to them”.
